Victor Glover, NASA astronaut and the first Black crew member to complete an extended stay on the International Space Station, joined Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD. Glover discussed his 168-day mission, the influence of his father’s career in policing, and the necessity of addressing racial equity within the aerospace community.

Cory Booker, U.S. senator from New Jersey, joined Dr. James Peterson on Evening WURDs to discuss his book, “United,” and his call for “national renewal.” Booker addressed systemic dysfunction in Congress, the student debt crisis, and his commitment to rejecting corporate PAC money while clarifying his policy stance on Middle East peace.

Drs. Joanne Brice, Chidi Nwakanma, Delana Wardlaw, Anthony Watkins, Horace DeLisser, Dan Taylor, and Elana McDonald joined Dr. James Peterson on Evening WURDs for “The Cost of Healing.” The medical panel explored the personal toll of clinical practice and the necessity of community-based advocacy to address systemic health inequities.

Nola Haynes, international security expert and former administration official, joined Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD to analyze the escalating conflict in Iran. Haynes discussed Pakistan’s role as a mediator, the potential for a ground war, and the strategic threats posed to the Strait of Hormuz.

Dr. Dan Bub, professor and aviation historian, joined Tiffany Bacon on Midday Break Room to discuss the enduring mystery of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. Bub highlighted the role of undetected catastrophic failure versus pilot suicide, specifically pointing to the aviation industry’s failure to adequately address and resource pilot mental health.

Njemele Anderson, Antoine Stroman, Dr. Bonnee Breese Bentum, and Jenee Lee, Philadelphia educators, joined Tiffany Bacon on the Midday Break Room to discuss “Building a Living Archive.” The Spencer Foundation-funded project empowers students to reclaim Black history through oral histories and digital storytelling, centering on local unsung heroes and the erasure of Black voices in education.
