Mustafa Rashed is the president and CEO of Bellevue Strategies. Rashed joined Wake Up With WURD with Solomon Jones to discuss the outcome of Tuesday’s elections around the country and wins from the Democrats in key races. He also covered the effectiveness of political messaging and the existential threat to Black voting rights via the Supreme Court.

Jenné Johns is the founder and president of “Once Upon A Preemie.” Johns joined Soulful Sunrise with Karen Taylor Bass to talk about National Preemie Month, the emotional and medical challenges of preterm birth and the urgent need for neonatal equity for Black families.

S. Mitra Kalita is a veteran journalist, author and the co-founder and CEO of URL Media, a network of Black and brown community news outlets. Kalita joined Dr. James Peterson on Evening WURDs to discuss the mayoral race in New York City, where voters overwhelmingly voted for the Democratic nominee, Zohran Mamdani. She also analyzed the driving forces behind his victory and the political implications, and shared how immigrants and non-traditional Democrats can run in future elections.

Meryanne Loum-Martin is the owner of a boutique hotel in Marrakech, Morocco, called the Jhane Tamsna. Loum-Martin joined The Midday Break Room with Tiffany Bacon to talk about her journey in owning the Jhane Tamsna, opening up a line of boutique hotels across the country and the importance of Black people from all over the diaspora to come together and unite.

Kevin Powell is a Grammy Award-nominated poet and civil rights activist and a celebrated political and literary voice in America. Powell joined Evening WURDs to discuss his debut feature-length documentary, “When We Free The World,” which serves as an intimate and expansive exploration of Black masculinity, trauma, mental health and the need for inclusive dialogue among Black men.

PennEnvironment Clean Water and Conservation Associate Hanna Felber joined ecoWURD Magazine with P.O.C. to talk about the PennEnvironment Research & Policy Center’s new report and interactive online map that tracks sewage overflows across Philadelphia. The map empowers residents to understand how pollution impacts local waterways and how they can take action to support clean, sustainable neighborhoods.
