Actor Richard Lawson is best known for his roles in “Dirty Harry,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and more. Lawson joined Wake Up With WURD with Solomon Jones to talk about Tyler Perry’s “Beauty in Black.” He also discussed his 50-year career and the positive impact of Tyler Perry’s support of Black media professionals in the entertainment industry.

Investment strategist Angela Matthews is the founder of the Happy Investor Method. Matthews joined Soulful Sunrise with Karen Taylor Bass to talk about the economic investment gap between Black men and women, her personal journey of learning about investing, and what it takes to become a successful investor.

Dr. Gregory McMahon is a urologist who specializes in treating cancers of the genitourinary tract, such as prostate cancer. LaMont Walker is a prostate cancer survivor who was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in 2022. They joined The Midday Break Room with guest host Roxi Fab to talk about the importance of Black men getting screened for prostate cancer.

Adam Mahoney is the climate and environment reporter at Capital B News. He joined Dr. James Peterson on Evening WURDs to discuss his five-part series chronicling the 20 years since Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005, forcing Black residents out of New Orleans and demonstrating how natural disasters have an outsized impact on Black communities.

Nidhi Krishen is the deputy director for Climate Solutions in Philadelphia’s Office of Sustainability. She joined ecoWURD Magazine with P.O.C. to talk about the city’s new Energy Poverty Alleviation Strategy. Krishen also discussed how energy costs burden many households and highlighted resources like the Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant, which helps to improve access, reduce costs, and build a more resilient, equitable future for Philadelphia communities.
