Evening WURDs on Violence: On April 13, Ralph Yarl of Kansas City, Mo., was shot and wounded while trying to pick up his twin brothers. The 16-year-old knocked on the wrong door and was met with gunfire from an 85-year-old white man. This week on Evening WURDs, Nick Taliaferro covered not just this one incident, but also the distinct pattern of fear-based gun violence that has become embedded in this country’s culture.

Listen to More Than Green: The Color of Cannabis: April 20 – 4/20 – is often recognized as a holiday dedicated to the use of cannabis. While cannabis and its usage become more widely accepted across the country, Pennsylvania is one of the last states in the mid-Atlantic to legalize recreational marijuana.
