Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner joined Wake Up With WURD with Solomon Jones to discuss the Trump Administration’s deployment of the National Guard in Democratic-led cities, many with Black mayors. Krasner argued that such actions are unconstitutional without a genuine emergency, warning they could pave the way toward dictatorship. He also shared what everyday citizens can do to protect themselves and their communities should the National Guard come to Philadelphia.

Dr. Starletta DuPois is an American actress with a career spanning stage, film and television. DuPois joined The Midday Break Room with Tiffany Bacon to talk about her decades-long career, appearing in over 90 films and TV projects like “The Notebook,” “Waiting to Exhale,” and more. She also chatted about her latest role in the movie “One Battle After Another,” where she stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and newcomer Chase Infiniti.

George Willborn is a syndicated radio personality and comedian. Willborn joined Evening WURDs with Dr. James Peterson to talk about his latest show in Philadelphia, “Monique and Friends,” his journey to becoming a comedian, how he earned his nickname “The Stress Reliever,” and what has his audiences stressed out.

Janet M. Taylor is a professional organizer and the creator of the “Got Clutter? Get Organized” podcast. Taylor joined Soulful Sunrise with Karen Taylor Bass during Emergency Preparedness Month to discuss why being organized is such a foundational piece of preparedness, what items are essential for a “go bag,” and what items and documents should be organized in case of an emergency.

Attorney Michael Coard, founder of Avenging the Ancestors Coalition, joined Evening WURDs to discuss the ongoing fight to preserve Black history at Philadelphia’s President’s House. The site, which honors the lives and legacies of the enslaved Africans once owned by George Washington, is now under threat due to a Trump Administration executive order titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History.”
