Dr. Timothy Golden is a visiting professor of Philosophy at Whitman College. Golden joined Wake Up With WURD with Solomon Jones to discuss the interconnected nature of President Donald Trump’s attempt to end birthright citizenship and his racially motivated immigration policies, emphasizing the threat they pose to Black Americans’ rights.

Dr. Kostiya Peki is the market director for Dedicated Senior Medical Center and he joined The Midday Break Room during Sassy Seniors to talk about the center’s mission to provide patient-centered, compassionate care to seniors. Peki also discussed his journey about growing up in Africa, watching his father navigate the U.S. healthcare system after suffering a stroke and shared that his philosophy is to treat seniors with time, respect, and compassion.

Dr. Kayla Elliott is the director of Workforce Policy at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies — America’s Black think tank. Dr. Elliott joined Evening WURDs with Dr. James Peterson to discuss the Joint Center’s mission, the critical role of the federal workforce and education policy for Black advancement, and the disruptive impact of the Trump administration’s changes at the Department of Education.

Minority Leader and Philadelphia City Councilmember Kendra Brooks joined ecoWURD Magazine with P.O.C. to talk about immigrant rights, ICE activity in Philadelphia neighborhoods, and the rise in local deportation fears. Brooks also broke down City Council’s newly approved resolution affirming that abortion rights are human rights.
