Driven by the ongoing violence in Philadelphia, including the recent mass shooting on South Street that left three people dead and 11 injured, WURD Radio hosted a special Roundtable on Violence on June 10..

Groundings host Brother Shomari, Wake Up With WURD host Solomon Jones and Black Women’s Leadership Council host Joann Bell moderated the roundtable, which featured Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw, District Attorney Larry Krasner, City Council President Darrell Clarke and City Controller Rebecca Rhynhart. Afterward, Philadelphia journalist Ernest Owens and WURD President & CEO Sara Lomax-Reese discussed the thoughts and insights that had been shared during the conversation.
