This week on WURD: Cherelle Parker makes history, the Cobbs Creek Golf Course, the case of Elijah McClain and more

Philadelphia mayor-elect Cherelle Parker joined Solomon Jones on Wake Up with WURD after her historic victory, becoming the city’s first female mayor. She spoke about her win and her vision for the city of Philadelphia.

Julia Dignam serves as the director of development and communications of the Cobbs Creek Foundation. She joined Andrea Lawful-Sanders on The Source to talk about the restoration of Cobbs Creek Golf Course and the impact it will have on the community once completed.

Roxanne Jones, a regular contributor on Wake Up With WURD, joined Solomon Jones to discuss the heartbreaking case of Elijah McClain, the 23-year-old Black man killed by police in 2019 Aurora, Colo. Two of the officers involved in his death were acquitted of all charges.

Eriq La Salle, actor, director, producer and author, best known to television audiences for his portrayal of Dr. Peter Benton in the critically acclaimed medical drama E.R., joined Tonya Pendleton on Reality Check to discuss his fourth novel, “Laws of Annihilation.”

Michael Rothschild, author of “Jewish Space Lasers: The Rothschilds and 200 Years of Conspiracy Theories,” joined Carol Riddick on Love and Life to discuss the global rise of antisemitism and to debunk some of the ideas people have about the Rothschild family.
