Join WURD Radio for our annual Founder’s Day celebration from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 31 from at Parkway Central Library, 1901 Vine St.!

Founder’s Day festivities will include a job and resource fair, mindful movement activities, panel discussions, the second annual Community Impact Awards, a WURD host roundtable, a forWURD member appreciation salon and live music. Masks are required to attend.

Just added to the Founder’s Day lineup — a forWURD member-exclusive invitation to a live cooking demonstration, conversation and tasting at the library’s Culinary Literacy Center. Tonya Hopkins, host of WURD’s Savory and Sweet, will join renowned Philadelphia chef Shayla Felton-Dorsey to recreate a recipe from “Watermelon and Red Birds,” the celebrated cookbook about Juneteenth and Black celebrations. WURD members can register here.
