WURD Radio celebrates Black Music Month with “What’s Going On? Philly’s Next Generation in Black Music” taking place on Friday, June 7th from 5:30-7:00 PM (doors open at 5PM) at The Barnes Foundation located at 2025 Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The event is part of The Barnes’ First Friday celebration of Marvin Gaye taking place immediately following the WURD panel discussion.
The panel will feature musicians, DJ’s, and music leaders whose work aims to amplify the voices of those often in the margins of the music industry. The discussion will also feature video highlights of the panelists’ work to serve as a reference for how they use their platforms to build community and create spaces to address or heal from “what’s going on” in our world today.
