Foreign Policy Analyst Malcolm Nance joined Wake Up With WURD with Solomon Jones to discuss the security implications of the Trump administration’s apparent support for Russia in the Ukraine war.

Dr. Tukufu Zuberi, professor of Sociology and Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, joined Wake Up With WURD to discuss the award-winning documentary he produced, which explores the history, challenges, and triumphs of Africa’s liberation movements.

Councilmember Jamie Gauthier proposed legislation condemning President Trump’s recent social media post likening himself as a king. Gauthier joined Reality Check with Tonya Pendleton and explained how dangerous Trump’s king narrative is for democracy.

District Attorney Larry Krasner joined Evening WURDs with Dr. James Peterson to address a recent article about a ward leader convicted of sexual assault who had endorsed his third campaign for district attorney. Krasner debunked the lies surrounding the story and answered critiques on his leadership of the office.

Dr. Mark Anthony Neal is the chair of the Department of African and African American Studies at Duke University. Neal joined Dr. Peterson to discuss hip-hop culture, the Black entertainment and music industries, Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance and the legacies of the late Roberta Flack and Angie Stone.
