Dr. Julius Garvey, the son of Black political figure Marcus Garvey, joined Dr. James Peterson on Evening WURDs to talk about his new book, “Justice for Marcus Garvey: Look For Me In The Whirlwind.” He also discussed the new petition to exonerate Marcus Garvey and a posthumous presidential pardon from President Joe Biden.

Director Carlton Williams from the Office of Clean & Green Initiatives joined P.O.C on ecoWURD to recap their 2024 wins and initiatives in its first year. The office was able to reduce litter, illegal dumping, and mobilize impactful community partnerships.

Sharon Vargas is one of the last African American Women Army Corps soldiers (WAC) who served during the Vietnam Era. She spoke with Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD to share her experiences and how she triumphed in the army as a Black woman.
