Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro joined Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD and discussed how critical Pennsylvania is for the presidential election, what’s at stake and Elon Musk’s million-dollar donations to petition signers in PA.

Ivan Douglas is from the Literacy Lab, which runs the Leading Men Fellowship, a program that trains young Black and Latino men to become early literacy instructors in preschool classrooms. Douglas spoke to Solomon Jones about how the Literacy Lab helps mitigate the literacy gap for children of color.

Shannon-Janean Currie is the vice president at Benenson Strategy Group. She joined Tonya Pendleton on Reality Check to discuss the current economic climate for Black men and women, as well as the possible economic outcomes of a Kamala Harris presidency.

State Rep. Rick Krajewski joined Amadee Braxton on Solutions to discuss his proposed bills on foster care benefits and voting rights for incarcerated individuals. The bills will expand foster care benefits to the caretaker and child and allow incarcerated individuals in PA to vote with absentee ballots.

Natasha Murphy is the director of health policy with the Center for American Progress. She joined Dr. James Peterson on Evening WURDs to discuss the Biden-Harris administration’s action to expand access to contraception. Murphy also talked about proposed regulations for private insurance companies to cover over-the-counter contraceptives.
