Mohan Seshadri, co-executive director of the Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance, joined Dr. James Peterson on Evening WURDs to discuss Mayor Cherelle Parker’s endorsement of the 76 Place in the Market East section of Philadelphia. Seshadri asserts that the arena is an existential threat to local Chinatown residents. 

BET Executive Vice President Tiyale Hayes and CEO of National Urban League Marc Morial joined Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD to promote the fifth annual National Black Voter Day. This campaign was launched in an effort to mobilize and empower Black voters.

Melanie Burney is a Philadelphia Inquirer education reporter. She joined Solomon to talk about the case involving former Camden school board president Wasim Muhammad, who resigned from his position following sexual assault allegations. 

Actor Erika Alexander, best known for her role as Maxine Shaw in “Living Single,” joined Tonya Pendleton on Reality Check. Alexander returns to her roots in Philadelphia for a Mid-Career Retrospective from September 19-21, featuring film screenings, community events, and a street renaming.

Harold Perrineau is an actor best known for his roles as Michael Dawson on the television series “Lost” and Link in The Matrix franchise. Perrineau appeared on Reality Check after being nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male for his performance in the hit indie film, “Smoke”.
