David Madland is the strategic director of the American Worker Project at the Center for American Progress. He joined Evening WURDs with Dr. James Peterson to break down Project 2025 and the potential civil rights infringements on Americans. 

Director of the Office of Clean and Green Initiatives Carlton Williams spoke with Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD about the street cleaning initiative that has cleaned 5,000 city blocks so far. Williams also discussed graffiti removal, picking up abandoned cars and vacant lot cleaning. 

AARP volunteer Valda Branison joined Tonya Pendleton on Reality Check to tell listeners about a surge in utility scams targeting susceptible adults and senior citizens.The scams exploit higher energy usage during high temperatures and heat waves.

Gail Carter-Hamilton is the chief racial equity officer of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health. She joined P.O.C. on ecoWURD Magazine to discuss the ongoing heat advisory. Carter-Hamilton outlined services that are available, tips on staying cool and locations for heat relief. 

Connor Descheemaker is the coalition manager for Transit Forward Philadelphia. They joined Tonya Pendleton to discuss the proposed Old City bus terminal on 2nd Street that will resolve the lack of shelter, heat relief and other amenities lost from the shutdown Greyhound Bus station in Chinatown.
