Love is Love: Celebrating 26 Years of Black LGBTQ+ Philly Love
Philadelphia’s Black LGBTQ+ community is confronting a series of ongoing challenges—displacement, homelessness, policy decisions that undermine individual and collective stability and safety, and a diminishing number of spaces where Black LGBTQ+ culture, identity, and leadership can be nurtured and flourish. These issues not only affect individuals but also threaten the communal strength and resilience of the entire Black community, including our Cis-identifying brothers and sisters. Philly Black Pride 2025 is an ideal space to tackle these critical challenges head-on, amplify the voices of our Philly community, and propose a call to action.
Join us for a powerful and dynamic live discussion during the opening reception of Philly Pride 2025. WURD UnPacking Radio proudly presents Love is Love: Celebrating 26 Years of Black LGBTQ+ Philly Love, a conversation that dives deep into the vibrant history, challenges, and triumphs of Philadelphia’s Black LGBTQ+ community and commemorates 26 years of unapologetic love, resilience, and pride. Through live engagement with thought leaders, activists, artists, and community members, Eric and Kai will explore how the Black Philly LGBTQ+ community has shaped and continues to influence Philadelphia’s cultural landscape, address current pressing political and social issues, and unpack actionable solutions that further the fight for equality and justice.
