Join WURD Radio and ecoWURD for a special broadcast exploring how environmental justice is at the core of the fight for racial justice and human rights overall. In the midst of a global pandemic and citywide protests, ecoWURD will examine how these issues are converging in Philadelphia, disproportionately impacting Black and Brown communities.

Hosted by Tiffany Bacon, the special broadcast will feature 2 Panel discussions from both a local and national voices:


  • Jeannine Kayembe-Oro, ecoWURD
  • Aseel Rasheed, Bartram’s Garden Director of public programs and a leader of the Alliance for Watershed Education
  • Jena Harris, Food Everyone Deserves, Chef, Food Liberator and First Responder


Features a Historical conversation with black women leading the nation in the fight for environmental justice for black people .

  • Majora Carter Peabody, award recipient award and McArthur Fellow Urban Strategist
  • Rue Mapp, founder of OutDoor Afro and award winning environmental activist
