What does freedom sound like? This summer, WURD Radio invites you on a powerful journey to find out. Tune in to the Summer of Freedom Cultural Series—a sonic audio tour through Philadelphia’s Black history, hosted and executive produced by Solomon Jones.
Each episode explores a different historic site and the people working to preserve its legacy.
The series begins Tuesday, July 15 at 8 a.m. on Wake Up With WURD with the Crystal Bird Fauset House in West Philadelphia—the home of the first Black woman elected to a state legislature in the United States. Learn more about Fauset’s contributions from the people who ensure her legacy is not lost.
