WURD Radio
We are aware of the complaint that has been filed by Do No Harm regarding the Black Doctors Directory and the subsequent report in The Philadelphia Inquirer. While we can’t speak to the specifics of that complaint, WURD Radio stands strong in our ongoing commitment to advancing health equity in our community.
WURD Radio has always worked—and will always work—tirelessly to address racial health disparities. The Black Doctors Directory is just one example of how we live out that commitment. We’re in conversation with our community every day, and we think the Black Doctors Directory is an important and needed contribution to the health and well-being of all Philadelphians.
Our dedication to health equity dates back to before WURD’s founding. It is rooted in the legacy of our founder, Walter P. Lomax Jr., M.D., who devoted his life to making healthcare accessible and compassionate for underserved communities.
WURD Radio will continue to stay true to this legacy — every single day — and to keep fighting for what matters to our community. The unwavering support of this community for more than 20 years is what makes this critical work possible.
