BLACKSTAR FILM FESTIVAL

The 6th Annual – BLACKSTAR FILM FESTIVAL is coming to Philadelphia from August 3rd through August 6th. The festival will be celebrating and showcasing over 60 national and international black films from 16 different countries around the world.
BLACKSTAR celebrates various perspectives of black lives including political and social justice issues through film screenings, panel discussions youth programs, and workshops. There will also be a special awards ceremony honoring acclaimed filmmaker and activist Ava Duvernay, director of the film Selma.
