SPECIAL BROADCAST: JACKIE ROBINSON DAY APRIL 15TH 2020!

WURD Radio will host a SPECIAL broadcast on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 from 10:00am to Noon on Reality Check, hosted by Charles Ellison. The broadcast commemorates the day that Jackie Robinson made baseball history by making a historic debut in Major League Baseball, breaking the league’s color barrier.

We celebrate Jackie Robinson as a representation of resilience, dedication, commitment, and perseverance. MLB also recognizes the day with an extensive and unified League-wide show of support which has included retiring Robinson’s number throughout the Majors in 1997; dedicating April 15th as Jackie Robinson Day each year since 2004; and requesting that every player and all on-field personnel wear his No. 42 during games scheduled on Jackie Robinson Day since 2009.
