The events will take place at Temple University and at the Church of the Advocate in North Central Philadelphia, with an opening plenary featuring Reverend Jeremiah Wright at Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church on Thursday evening.
Reclaiming Our Future: The Black Radical Tradition in Our Time is a conference sponsored by The Church of the Advocate, an architectural landmark and historical monument in North Philadelphia for its central role during the Civil Rights Movement. Organizers of the conference have actively mobilized the local community of Philadelphia and individuals from around the country in order to inform and address the ideological and political issues of radical movements today.
