Details

The sixth annual Hope 4 Philly event will take place at the Pennypacker School at 1858 E. Washington Lane on September 16, 2017 from 11 am to 3 pm. Through Hope 4 Philly, Great Commission Church and other churches, in partnership with businesses and community organizations, bring job resources, healthcare, and social services to the community. We anticipate 700 people to attend this event, which will include gospel performances, carnival games, faith-based activities, and complementary food. We invite all to come and participate.

The Philadelphia Daily News and WURD Radio will be media sponsors for this event. Media sponsorship, along with an aggressive public relations campaign, will allow us to have a greater impact.

The primary goal of Hope 4 Philly is to serve the people of West Oak Lane, a working class community located in the northwest section of Philadelphia. Despite the existence of strong community institutions, 100 percent of the children in Pennypacker School are listed as economically disadvantaged by the Philadelphia School District. We work with these children and their families. They are brilliant and resourceful. Most of all, they are ours. By partnering the business, health, social service, and church communities, we intend to address specific community needs such as employment, health screenings, school supplies, and educational opportunities.

Make sure that you stop by and join WURD Radio and Wake Up With WURD host Solomon Jones as we kick off the 6th Annual: Hope 4 Philly!
