In light of the ongoing dismantling of DEI initiatives affecting the African American  community, “Building the Black Agenda” seeks to unite the Black community around a  cohesive economic strategy.

Our goal is to use Black dollars and consolidate Black power to bring about Black  justice. That means creating opportunities for Black workers, growing the bottom line for  Black businesses, and creating the means for Black families to build wealth. We strive  to grow our economic base through entrepreneurship and other wealth creation  strategies, and we will do so using every legal tool at our disposal.

We believe economics affects every element of our lives. Because of that shared belief,  we will approach each challenge we face through an economic lens, with a particular  focus on the following subject areas:

  • BUSINESS
  • EDUCATION
  • HEALTH
  • CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
  • LITIGATION
  • SPIRITUALITY

We believe that economic justice is inextricably linked to educational justice, health  outcomes, criminal justice, public policy, and racial justice. We further believe that our  history is firmly connected to our very being, and we will not, under any circumstance,  allow that history to be erased. We are determined to use our historical experiences to  inform the current movement and to build for our children’s futures.

We will challenge anti-Blackness in our communities, in private businesses, in  government entities, and in public policy.

We will move in unity, helping our businesses to get certified and to secure funding.  We call on all public officials and corporate citizens to commit to creating equitable  opportunities so that we can not only have a seat at the table but can also build a table  of our own.
