This week on WURD: Gov. Tim Walz announced as Kamala’s running mate, Harris-Walz and J.D. Vance rallies in Philly, police commissioner details block party procedures

Journalist Mike Lillis from The Hill joined Reality Check with Tonya Pendleton to discuss the announcement of Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. They talked about Walz’s track record as a governor and where he stands on issues concerning voters.

PA State Rep. Jordan Harris spoke to Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD about the Republican VP pick, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, who held a gun prevention rally in Philly the same day Harris-Walz held their rally on Tuesday. Rep. Harris explained how the Trump administration made Philadelphia more susceptible to gun violence. 

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel talked with Solomon Jones about policies and procedures involving block parties after a mass shooting that took place during a late-night illegal gathering. Bethel detailed how residents can organize block parties and how police enforce the newly implemented Kensington curfew.
