Dr. Lucille W. Ijoy – an accomplished educator, motivational speaker, and WURD radio personality, holds three education degrees: a B.S. from St. Joseph’s University, and an M.Ed. and Ed.D. from Temple University. Additionally, she is a family and marriage therapist, a certified mediator, and an author of books including“Cultural Diversity in the Workforce: A Two-Day Training Plan” and “Creative Discipline: Skills for Calm, Confident, Peaceful, Wholesome Parenting.”
Dr. Ijoy’s work includes two spoken word/musical meditation and motivation CDs: “Thirty Minutes Toward Tranquility: A Healing Time With Ijoy” and “Wise Wild Wonderful Women Know: Kicking-it-out and Slowing-it-Down.” She has also released a CD on diversity/inclusiveness titled “At-Table.”
Formerly the first chief of staff for Philadelphia City Council and the executive director for the Mayor’s Commission on Literacy, Dr. Ijoy is a sought-after keynote speaker at diverse intergenerational events. She’s also an active volunteer with organizations such as Wissahickon Hospice and the Intergenerational House of Hope and Friendship. A member of the Delaware Valley Association of Black Psychologists, she encourages families to “Let Your Children Fly” and urges everyone to “Live Your Mission With Passion and Compassion.”
