Walter M. Kimbrough is the president of Talladega College and author of a recent op-ed article on the hazing death of Omega Psi Phi pledge Caleb Wilson. He joined Evening WURDs with Dr. James Peterson to contextualize hazing traditions at historically Black colleges and universities and the mixed reactions to Wilson’s death.

Dr. Christina Greer is an associate professor of political science at Fordham University and author of “How to Build a Democracy: From Fannie Lou Hamer and Barbara Jordan to Stacy Abrams.” She joined Evening WURDs to discuss how Black women will be affected by federal layoffs under DOGE.

Temple journalism professor Linn Washington joined Wake Up With WURD with Solomon Jones to discuss U.S. Sen. Cory Booker’s historic, record-breaking 25-hour speech protesting the Trump administration.

Gabriel Escobar is the editor and senior vice president​ of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Escobar spoke to Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD about the newspaper’s dissolution of the communities and engagement desk, which resulted in the layoffs of several Black and Latino journalists.
