Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel told listeners on Wake Up With WURD with Solomon Jones all they need to know about the plane crash in northeast Philly, which is under active investigation. Bethel talked about the recovery process for the surrounding community and the city’s resources to keep people safe.

Director of Social Studies for the School District of Philadelphia, Ismael Jimenez, joined Evening WURDs with Dr. James Peterson and talked about the Grammys Black magic, how Black figures are revered during Black History Month and his upcoming Black book club on Malcolm X.

Legendary soul and disco singer Gloria Gaynor is known for her iconic hits “I Will Survive” and “I Am What I Am.” Gaynor joined Reality Check with Tonya Pendleton to discuss the fictionalized documentary about her life that will premiere on Lifetime titled “I Will Survive: The Gloria Gaynor Story.”

C. Liegh McInnis is a poet and the author of eight books. McInnis performed his poem, “Black Man,” on Reality Check with Tonya Pendleton. McInnis talked about the importance of Black History Month and its integral part of American history and global history.

Alex Wagner is the host of “Alex Wagner Tonight” on MSNBC. She joined Dr. James Peterson to talk about the recent aggressive tactics undertaken by ICE agents in major migrant-populated cities and the resources local organizations have for protection.
