She joined Dr. James Peterson on Evening WURDs to discuss her new book “Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons With Racism In Medicine.” Blackstock’s memoir criticizes racism integrated within the American healthcare system and how it has neglected Black families and Black women.

Karen Hunter is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, a professor at Hunter College, celebrated radio talk show host, and author of numerous New York Times bestsellers. She joined Evening WURDs to discuss how she plans to cover Trump’s upcoming second presidential term and the Trump-Vance administration, Project 2025 and more.

Dr. Ian Smith is a New York Times bestselling author, the creator and founder of The Makeover Mile, a longtime medical contributor to The Rachael Ray Show and host of the nationally syndicated, Emmy Award-winning talk show The Doctors. He joined Tonya Pendleton on Reality Check to discuss his new book, “EAT YOUR AGE: Feel Younger, Be Happier, Live Longer.”

Philadelphia district attorney Larry Krasner joined Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD to discuss a new approach to Philadelphia’s juvenile justice system. Under this initiative, some juvenile offenders will avoid incarceration and instead be directed toward rehabilitation programs. These programs will include intensive support, mentoring, supervision and structure aimed at promoting positive development and lowering the rate of recidivism.  

Kempis “Ghani” Songster is the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth’s first transformative healing and restorative justice manager. Songster joined Amadee Braxton on Solutions to talk about the use of healing circles in restorative justice processes on a national scale for youth and the healing power of reconnecting to our natural environment.
