Maryland Governor Wes Moore joined Dr. James Peterson on Evening WURDs to talk about the uptick in political discourse on Black male voters. Moore cited how policymaking has impacted Black political beliefs and encouraged fellow Black men to vote.

Dr. Alina Mateo works in Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center. She joined Solomon Jones on Wake Up With WURD to raise awareness on the prevalence of breast cancer in Black women and how successful treatment is with early detection.

Juan de Marcos Gonzáles is a member of The Afro-Cuban All Stars, a music group that highlights the Latin American genre. Gonzáles joined Tonya Pendleton on Reality Check and discussed the group’s upcoming show in Philadelphia and how other cultural music has inspired their music.

Solomon Jones held a panel discussion titled, ‘Dissecting Project 2025’, with Dr. Tim Golden, Penn professor Dorothy Roberts, and investigative reporter Christina Kristofic of the Philadelphia Tribune. Each member gave their expertise on the matter and what Project 2025’s potential consequences are on Black Americans.

Spotlight PA Reporter Stephen Caruso joined Evening WURDs to discuss the latest news on SEPTA’s budget deficit, proposed fare hikes and the battle for funding with Republican lawmakers in the state’s budget. Caruso also talked about how the city will be impacted if SEPTA is not funded.
