Tune in all this week for new shows, new voices and the “Power Hour” 7pm weeknight block!

Stay tuned to WURD all this week for exciting changes to our weekday schedule, including the addition of an early-riser news broadcast called Daybreak at WURD and the introduction of a 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. weeknight block titled The Power Hour!

Listener favorites such as Wake Up With WURD (Monday through Friday, 7 – 10 a.m.), The MOJO (Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.), Midday Café (Monday through Friday, 12 – 1 p.m.), Keepin’ it Real with Rev. Al Sharpton (Monday through Friday, 1 – 4 p.m.) and The Nick Taliaferro Show (Monday through Thursday, 4 – 7 p.m.) remain in their current time slots. The popular all-music Rhythmic Caravan weeknight block will shift one hour later Monday through Thursday, airing at 8 p.m. weeknights (Friday broadcast remains at 7 p.m.).

New talent on WURD’s airwaves includes financial literacy expert and media personality Keva Sturdevant, host of Healthy, Wealthy & Wise, a show to help WURD listeners establish and maintain financial security. Rahim Islam will lead a team of hosts for Universally Speaking, which will focus on the work of The Philadelphia Community of Leaders, an organization of leaders dedicated to addressing systemic issues facing the local African American community. Guided by educator-activist Brother Shomari and educator-youth advocate Dr. Chuck WilliamsYouthWURDs will feature teen-focused conversation led by a rotating group of dynamic and inspiring Philadelphia high school students. In addition, Philadelphia news and radio veteran Thera Martin Milling returns to WURD to helm Daybreak at WURD, a morning digest program that will help listeners get their day started on the right foot with breaking news, sports and weather updates, and commentary from opinion leaders in the region.


5 – 6 a.m. – Morning Inspiration, Spiritually-uplifting, inspirational, and encouraging sermons and music

6 – 7 a.m. – Daybreak at WURD, Hosted by Thera Martin Milling

7 – 8 p.m. – The Power Hour

Tuesdays: Universally Speaking, Hosted by Philadelphia Community of Leaders
Wednesdays: YouthWURDsTeen topics and conversation, guided by Brother Shomari and Dr. Chuck Williams
Thursdays: Healthy, Wealthy & Wise, Hosted by Keva Sturdevant.
