Thousands Take Advantage of PA’s New Online Voter Registration Portal

Written by on September 4, 2015

It has been just over a week since Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of State Pedro Cortés announced the launch of online voter registration, and more than 5,000 people have already taken advantage of the option.

The online registration application is hosted by the Department of State and can be accessed at register.votesPA.com.

According to Wolf, “online voter registration is about making the voting experience more convenient and more accessible. It is about giving citizens an easier way to exercise their right to vote and establishing a clearer connection between the political system and the citizens. Online voter registration is secure, it improves accuracy and will reduce costs for counties by cutting down on time-consuming data entry.”

The new site is available in both English and Spanish and has a variety of useful features, including options to update one’s name, address or party affiliation.
