In response to what appears to be intentional police thwarting of media efforts to gather news in Ferguson, MO, journalists and everyday citizens are taking to social media to ensure that activism supporting justice for the death of Michael Brown won’t be ignored.

At 1:30 P.M. on August 12 a press conference was convened in Ferguson, MO about the police shooting death of Michael Brown.

The hashtag IfTheyGunnedMeDown has taken off on the social network Twitter to protest the practice by media outlets of using negative, racist, or false-stereotype images of African Americans when portraying them in the news, especially as victims of crimes.

Keisha Williams, mother of the three children slain on July 25 in a carjacking crash in North Philadelphia (Keiearra Williams [15], Joseph Reed [10] and Terrence Moore [7)]), has died due to injuries sustained in the tragic crash.

Six Philadelphia Police Department officers, formerly of the Narcotics Field Unit, have been hit with an array of serious charges in a 26-count federal racketeering indictment tracing brazenly illegal activity over a period spanning 2006 to 2012.
