It was announced today that Philadelphia has been selected as the site of the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Philly was the winner in a field of five finalist cities that included Columbus (Ohio) and Brooklyn, New York. Other cities considered included Birmingham, Alabama and Phoenix, Arizona.
