Pheralyn Dove Guest Hosts Aug. 15 Edition of “The Karamu”

Pheralyn Dove, also known as “Lady Dove,” guest hosts today’s edition of “The Karamu” while Dr. Richard Cooper is on vacation. The first half of the show is dedicated to solutions to the education crisis, and the second half will be a mix of cultural arts happenings that you need to have on your radar!

Today’s guests include:
— Wendi Mungai, a writer and Philadelphia school teacher who will be joining Pheralyn live, in-studio;
— Karen Warrington, Communications Director for Congressman Robert Brady, who is starting a girls mentoring initiative;
— Samuel Reed, III, a teacher, writer, and youth mentor;
— Warren Oree, bassist and leader of the Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, who will discuss his upcoming jazz festival on South Street; and
— Betty Leacraft, fiber artist, who will call in to discuss her recent sojourn to South Africa to study with a master textile artist on the Continent.
