“Morning Inspiration” Premieres on WURD on Sept. 15 – Weekdays, 5-7AM

Written by on September 14, 2014

At the core of WURD Radio there abides a deep respect and appreciation for the power of words, especially when they are used to uplift and inspire. In that spirit, 900AM-WURD has always started each day with inspirational words, both in song and speech, from respected leaders like our own Rev. Louise Williams-Bishop and the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright.

That foundation remains, but we are expanding on the concept with the introduction of our new Morning Inspiration programming. Morning Inspiration is designed to bring to our listeners two hours of inspiration and encouragement from 5:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M. (weekdays) from a wide range of renowned inspirational voices. Better still, we will involve more respected speakers, both local and international and from both the present and the past.

Music, mostly derived from traditional inspirational sources, will also be a part of our new morning format. Added to that there will be short readings and brief narratives – many of them offered by WURD family members – interspersed throughout Morning Inspiration that will also serve to motivate and challenge you to live your best life.

So join us weekdays, 5:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M. for two hours of inspiration – absent of politics, negativity, or triviality – that will help to prepare you within as you prepare to face your day.

Welcome to Morning Inspiration!

I have been trying to get in touch with Rev Bishop about a song that is absolutely driving me and my sister crazy. Rev Bishop if you get this message here is the cause of our insanity. We lost our mother in September 2018. We often laugh and talk about her with fondness about growing up. One if our fondess memories was getting up and getting ready for church on Sunday morning. Mommy would have the radio playing and if course listening to you busy in the kitchen making pancakes. One sound you used to always play was, assuming this is the title, it was certainly the verse, was Lift a heart. We always thought it was the Staple Singers, but I can’t find it on any album if theirs. If you remember who the song and artist, could you please share this with us. Thanks so much!!!!

    God Bless

I am so glad to find out you are on radio playing music I love. I will be listening and enjoying this music. I did not know until a few weeks ago that you were on the radio. Thank you so much for playing my kind of music. I think the name Jesus and God in songs help you remember who you are singing about. I am not knocking contemporary music but, my preference is traditional music. Keep the music playing and God bless you.
