With so much focus on the race for the Mayor in Philadelphia, it’s easy to forget that the upcoming election on May 19 actually covers quite a few offices this season, including nominating candidates for City Council, City Commission, Sheriff, Register of Wills, and state and municipal judgeships.

As part of 900AM-WURD’s ongoing commitment to connecting you to issues that impact the Black community, we are happy to participate in initiatives such as The Next Mayor/#NextMayorPHL#BlackVotersMatter; AL DIA News Media’s “In Conversation with Philadelphia” (with Solomon Jones as panelist); the People’s Emergency Center’s “Sounding the Horn” forum (with Stef Renee as moderator); the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists’ “Moving Philadelphia Forward” Mayoral Candidate Forum (with Solomon Jones as panelist); the Black Political Summit, and the WURD/Big Brothers-Big Sisters Youth Mayoral Forum.

Please exercise your right to vote — but first, educate yourself about politics and government in Philadelphia:
